Xoli - Cafe Xoho A good coffee makes everything possible

If you don't split the work between one other person you will drown

Xoli Ormut Durbin was born in Hong Kong to Canadian parents who were working there. She stayed in China until the age of 18, at which point she did a brief stint in Israel, and then 3 years study at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia (Graphic Design). During her time in Australia she worked in many Restaurants, Cafes and Jazz Clubs and came to love the Hospitality Industry. Upon deciding to make Aliyah in 2008, she started working as a bartender immediately in order to learn the language. The only person she knew here was Howie (from South Africa), her best friend. She came to Israel with no community, no friends and hardly any family, and I was missing that neighbourhood feeling I knew so well from my years in Australia. She and Howie decided to open a Cafe -  the name Xoho is a combination of our two names. Over the years there have been some notable women in her circle that have really helped me to turn her vision into a reality, and she is forever grateful and humbled. Israel has not made it easy, but she is catering to a community that she felt didn't have a gathering space yet, and it is amazing to see her dream come to fruition.
